Other projects
We have also worked on a number of projects that span other sectors such as schools and community schemes, ranging from classroom and sports facilities, places of worship and even a new community horse riding centre. This experience enables us to bring our expertise to bear on projects outside of our core sectors.

St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College,
North Kensington
MPA were appointed as Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent for this impressive project providing new sports and IT teaching facilities at a progressive sixth form college setting a vibrant image for the college campus. The new building, which replaced an earlier outdated gymnasium, provides a multi-use sports hall and changing facilities together with a fitness studio and a suite of IT classrooms. Sustainable design principles and low-energy consumption are integral to the design, with natural light and ventilation where possible, a ground linked cooling system and rainwater harvesting all featuring prominently in the scheme. Using innovative cross-laminated timber panel technology, the project was delivered ahead of time and under budget without any disruption to the normal functioning of the college.

Gurdwara Karamsar Temple, Iflord
MPA acted as Quantity Surveyor on this distinctive project which comprised the demolition of an existing uninspiring temple, which had itself been converted from an old Labour Party community hall, and the construction of a new three storey Sikh temple of rich character. The new ornate façade and domes were constructed from authentic handcarved Indian sandstone and installed on site by Rajasthani stonemasons. Internally the temple had a bespoke metal and glass staircase giving it a more contemporary feel.
